What is the meaning of "three phases" in the twenty-four solar terms (5): Qingming.

As we all know, there are 24 solar terms, including 12 months, and each solar term is 15 days. In China, five days is a cycle and three cycles are a solar term, so a solar term is also called three cycles. According to the climate characteristics and some special phenomena at that time, the working people in ancient China named the three phases of each solar term to express the characteristics of the weather at that time concisely and clearly.

Three stages of the twenty-four solar terms:

1: beginning of spring

3: In a daze

It is described that it is the season of peach blossom red, plum blossom white, orioles singing and swallows coming, and most areas have entered spring ploughing. When all kinds of insects dormant and hibernating in the soil are awakened, eggs will begin to ovulate in winter, so it can be seen that fright is a solar term reflecting natural phenology.

4: Equinox

Waiting for the arrival of birds; Second, wait for Lei Nai to make a sound; Third, wait for the power to start. It means that after the vernal equinox, swallows will fly from the south, and the sky will thunder and lightning when it rains.

5: Tomb-Sweeping Day

When tung trees begin to blossom; Second, the vole became a quail; See you after the rainbow. This means that at this time, first the white paulownia blooms, then the shaded voles disappear and all return to the underground caves, and then the rainbow can be seen in the sky after the rain.

6: Grain Rain

Waiting for a flat birth; Second, wait for the cuckoo to brush its hair; The third stage is Dai Ren's surrender to mulberry. After Grain Rain, rainfall increased, duckweed began to grow, then cuckoo began to remind people to sow, and then Dai Sheng birds began to be seen on mulberry trees.

7: Long summer

Wait for the buzz; Second, wait for the earthworm to appear; Third, wait for Wang Guasheng. That is to say, in this solar term, you can first hear kangaroos (that is, crickets) croaking in the field (that is, frogs), then you can see earthworms digging in the soil, and then the vines of the king melon begin to climb and grow rapidly.

8: Xiaoman

Waiting for a bitter vegetable show; Second, waiting for grass to die; Third, when the autumn wheat arrives. In other words, in Xiaoman solar terms, bitter vegetables have flourished; Some grass with soft branches and like shade began to die in the strong sunlight; At this time, the wheat began to mature.

9: Mangzhong
