What are the climatic characteristics of Xi 'an?
Xi 'an Plain belongs to warm temperate zone and semi-humid continental monsoon climate, with four distinct seasons: cold, warm, dry and wet. Winter is cold, windy, foggy and less rainy and snowy; Spring is warm, dry, windy and the climate is changeable; Summer is hot and rainy, drought is prominent, and there are many thunderstorms and strong winds; Autumn is cool, the temperature drops rapidly, and the autumn rain is obvious.
The annual sunshine hours are1646.1~ 2114.9 hours, and the dominant wind direction varies from place to place. Xi 'an is the northeast wind, Zhouzhi and Huxian are the west wind, Gaoling and Lintong are the northeast wind, Chang 'an is the southeast wind, and Lantian is the northwest wind.

Xi 'an has a dense river network with 54 rivers. Among them, Weihe River, Jinghe River and Shichuan River are transit rivers, and the rest rivers all originate from Qinling Mountains or the hills of Li Dongnan, and most of them flow through Weihe Plain from south to north and flow into Weihe River. The area of the Yellow River basin accounts for 98.46% of the total area of the city.
