1. The main function of the air flowmeter is to detect the intake air volume or intake air temperature of the engine, and some also detect the atmospheric pressure.

2. Convert the intake air into electrical signal, calculate it in ECU, and control the engine speed (fuel injection time and ignition time control) together with the throttle position sensor.

3. There are many forms of air flow meters: valve type (according to the opening of the valve to detect the flow), Karman vortex type (according to the disturbed airflow intensity during intake), hot wire type (according to the heat dissipation of the intake air flowing through the thermistor to detect the flow), hot film type (according to the heat dissipation of the air blowing through the hot film to detect the intake air flow), ultrasonic type (according to the interference of the intake air with the ultrasonic wave to detect the intake air flow) and vacuum type.
