What are the phenomena of fuel system damage?

When it comes to the fuel system of a car, many car owners only know how to refuel and put a lid on the fuel tank, but they know little about the fuel system. Several necessary factors for the normal start of an automobile engine are fuel with sufficient pressure. If there is no fuel supply or the fuel pressure is not enough, the engine will burn badly or even fail to start.

There was once a car owner who used inferior gasoline. When waiting for the traffic lights, the car turned off directly. Later, a replacement gasoline pump was provided to solve the problem. Therefore, the quality of the engine is directly related to the quality of fuel and whether the fuel system works normally.

The following content is to analyze the fault phenomenon of fuel system, and then put forward relevant solutions to help car owners.

Insufficient oil pressure makes the engine useless.

The gasoline pump hidden in the oil tank is to reduce the generation of air resistance and the entry of water. There is a filter screen at the entrance of the gasoline pump, which has a small diameter and can filter small particles of gasoline impurities. The filter screen will be blocked after the car is used for a long time, resulting in the engine not working after the flameout. The solution is to release the oil pressure, clean the filter and add improved gasoline or diesel oil again.

The oil pressure regulator is installed at the end of the fuel delivery pipeline to adjust the pressure entering the fuel injector. This pressure is maintained at a constant value of 300-350KPa, and will not be affected by the vacuum degree of the intake pipe and the pressure of the gasoline pump. There is also a screen on the oil pressure regulator. If the filter screen is blocked, it will cause the sound of "all-on" air flow in the vehicle fuel tank. Clean the filter screen with special cleaning agent, and then dry it with compressed air to eliminate the fault.

You can also remove the fuel injectors and fuel rails of all cylinders and check whether there are a lot of carbon deposits and gasoline impurities in the installation position. If yes, it also means that the filter screen of the oil pressure regulator is blocked.

Moisture in gasoline will corrode fuel system components.

Gasoline will contain some water, which may be produced in the process of production and refining, or the outside air may enter the pipeline. At a warmer temperature, gasoline can dissolve some water properly, but in a cold state, the solubility of water in gasoline becomes worse, and excess water slowly gathers at the joint between the filter and the oil pipe, and the amount of oil provided to the pipeline is intermittent.

Components in the fuel system have been corroded and destroyed by moisture for a long time. In this case, it is best to replace the relevant components in the fuel system, flush the oil circuit and oil pipe with gasoline, and remove the water in the fuel pipe before the engine can resume work.

Fuel injector leakage leads to rich mixture.

There is a sealing ring on the fuel injector. If the sealing ring leaks oil, it will cause the fuel injector to leak oil. A lot of oil traces can be seen beside the intake manifold. The main reason is that the fuel pressure is low (for example, 160- 180KPa at idle speed), and the exhaust gas detection shows that HC hydrocarbons and CO carbon monoxide are high.

During the inspection, focus on the coolant temperature sensor and air flow meter that have the greatest influence, and check the coolant temperature under the corresponding vehicle conditions, such as 80-90 degrees is related to the hot vehicle conditions, and of course it will not be as low as 20-30 degrees; When idling, the air intake detected by the air flow meter is 30Hz, and the engine speed can be increased to 50-60Hz.

Summary and suggestions:

The maintenance of the fuel system is not just as simple as refueling. Conditional car owners can go to the repair shop to clean the fuel system, including cleaning the throttle and injector. It is recommended to clean it every 20,000-30,000 kilometers.

If the owner thinks it is unnecessary, at least add gasoline that meets the standard. Don't go to a small gas station to add gasoline to save some money. It will cost more to maintain it then.
