What flower does each solar term symbolize?
From slight cold to Grain Rain, there are three kinds of eight solar terms, which are collectively called twenty-four Hua Xinfeng. It's clearly recorded, but the rest is unknown.
Twenty-four times that of Hua Xinfeng:
Slight cold: plum blossom, camellia, narcissus;
Great cold: Daphne odora, orchid and alum in Phnom Penh;
Beginning of spring: Spring Festival, cherry blossoms, spring;
Rain: first-class cauliflower, second-class apricot flower, third-class plum flower;
Surprise: a peach blossom, a pear and a rose;
Vernal equinox: once begonia, twice pear and three magnolia;
Qingming: first-class tung flower, second-class wheat flower, third-class willow flower;
Grain Rain: The first peony, the second peony and the third peony.
