What are the cat claws of steam turbines for?
Cat claw is generally installed on the horizontal joint surface of the front bearing seat (and the middle bearing seat of the double-cylinder steam turbine), and consists of cat claw protruding from the end of the lower cylinder or the upper cylinder, special pins and bolts.
The cat's paw acts as a cross pin to support the cylinder. Cat claw transverse pin is used to ensure that the cylinder expands freely in the transverse direction. At the same time, with the axial expansion and contraction of the cylinder, the bearing seat is pushed forward or backward to maintain the axial relative position of the rotor and the cylinder.
