1. Test the power supply voltage, unplug the connector plug on the throttle position sensor, turn on the ignition switch, and measure the voltage values between Vcc and idle contact, Vcc and full throttle contact respectively, which should be 4.5-5.5V If it does not meet the requirements, check the ECU connection circuit. If the voltage value meets the requirements, check the resistance of the throttle potentiometer.

2. Resistance detection: unplug the throttle potentiometer and measure the resistance between Vcc and idle contact, which should be1.5 ~ 2.6kΩ; Measure the resistance between Vcc and VTH, which should be 0.75 ~1.3kΩ at idle speed. Turn the throttle lever to the full open position slowly, and the resistance value of the potentiometer should rise to the maximum value of 3.6kΩ. If one item does not meet the requirements, it means that the throttle position sensor is faulty and should be replaced.

The throttle position sensor is also called throttle opening sensor or throttle switch. The main function is to detect whether the engine is in idle or load condition, acceleration or deceleration condition. Essentially, it is a variable resistor and several switches installed on the throttle body.
