It originated from the worship of astronomical phenomena and evolved from the ancient Dragon Boat Festival. Valentine's Day in China is also called Qiaoqi Festival, Qijie Festival, Daughter's Day, Kiqiaoqiao Festival, Qiaoqi Festival, Chinese Valentine's Day, Cow and Bull Festival and Qiaoqiao Festival.
