Beginning of spring has arrived, and spring has come. It won't be cold any more?

It can be very cold after beginning of spring. Also known as "cold spring".

Because the 24 solar terms originated in the Yellow River Basin. Taking beginning of spring as beginning of spring, this seasonal division method is called astronomical seasonal division. The astronomical season ignores geographical and meteorological factors, and the four seasons are quite different from the reality, but they are closely related to agricultural production in the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River.

A solar term is divided into three periods, with five days as a cycle. The first weather in beginning of spring is "east wind thawing", and the date of soil thawing in the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River begins in beginning of spring. Therefore, when in beginning of spring, people should prepare for farming, which basically conforms to the solar terms. However, as a symbol of beginning of spring, it's a little early.

In China's climatology, beginning of spring is usually defined as a day when the daily average temperature is stable above 10℃ every five days, which is inconsistent with the meaning of beginning of spring in the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River. Although it is spring, most parts of the country are still very cold except South China.

At the beginning of February, only South China really entered the spring. But this division method is more practical. After beginning of spring, the temperature rose, and most parts of the country began a busy spring ploughing season.

Specifically, the average temperature between 10 and 22 degrees is spring and autumn, the average temperature below 10 degrees is winter, and the average temperature above 22 degrees is summer.

This method of dividing seasons is called climatic four seasons, which is more real than astronomical four seasons.

According to the four climatic seasons, Tomb-Sweeping Day in the northeast and northwest is in spring, the vernal equinox and solar terms in North China are in spring, the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River are in spring before and after the earthquake, and the rain in the southwest is in spring. Only beginning of spring solar terms in South China can be regarded as beginning of spring.
