duānwǔjié。
China traditional festival, the fifth day of the fifth lunar month. According to legend, the ancient patriotic poet Qu Yuan threw himself into the river on this day. In order to commemorate him, later generations regard this day as a festival, and have customs such as eating zongzi and rowing dragon boats.
People believe that eating this stuffing during the Dragon Boat Festival can detoxify and get sick.
