Adjustment of electric horn

Electric horns are generally non-adjustable. The adjustment of spiral and basin electric horns generally includes two items: iron core air gap adjustment and contact pre-pressure adjustment. The former adjusts the tone of the speaker, while the latter adjusts the volume of the speaker.

1. Iron core air gap (that is, the air gap between armature and iron core) Adjusting the tone of the electric horn is related to the iron core air gap. When the air gap of the iron core is small, the vibration frequency of the diaphragm is high (that is, the tone is high); When the air gap is large, the vibration frequency of the diaphragm is low (that is, the tone is low). The core air gap value (generally 0.7- 1.5 mm) depends on the height and specifications of the horn, such as 0.7-0.9 mm for DL34G and 0.9- 1.05 mm for DL34D.

The position and method of adjusting the air gap between cylindrical and spiral electric horn cores are shown in Figure 6-37. For the electric horn shown in Figure 6-37a, loosen the lock nut first, and then rotate the armature to change the air gap between the armature and the iron core. For the electric horn shown in Figure 6-37b, loosen the upper and lower adjusting nuts to make the iron core rise or fall, that is, change the air gap of the iron core; For the electric horn shown in Figure 6-37c, firstly loosen the nut, rotate the armature for adjustment, then open the adjusting nut to make the spring plate parallel to the armature, and then tighten it. When adjusting. The air gap between armature and iron core should be uniform, otherwise noise will be generated.

As shown in Figure 6-38, the adjustment of the air gap of the pot-shaped electric horn core should be carried out by loosening the lock nut and then turning the volume adjusting bolt (core).

2. Contact pre-pressure adjustment

The sound of an electric horn is related to the current passing through the horn coil. When the contact pre-pressure increases, the current flowing through the horn coil increases, and the volume generated by the horn increases, and vice versa.

Whether the contact pressure is normal can be judged by checking whether the working current of the horn meets the rated current. If the working current is equal to the rated current, the contact pressure is normal; If the working current is greater than or less than the rated current, it means that the contact pressure is too large or too small and should be adjusted. For the cylindrical and spiral electric horns shown in Figure 6-37, loosen the barium nut first, and then turn the adjusting nut (when turning counterclockwise, the contact pressure will increase and the volume will increase) for adjustment; For the basin-shaped electric horn shown in Figure 6-38, you can turn the volume adjustment screw (counterclockwise to increase the volume). Don't rush the adjustment. Generally, the adjusting nut should not be turned more than110 turn at a time.

The adjustment of volume and sound quality of electric horn is not completely independent, they are actually interrelated and need to be debugged repeatedly to achieve the best effect. The sound level of the automobile horn shall be 90-1/8 db (a) when it is measured 2m away from the front of the vehicle and 2m away from the ground.
