Is there a Dragon Boat Festival in Vietnam?
In Vietnam, the Dragon Boat Festival on the fifth day of May is a very important festival to worship ancestors, because this day is the memorial day of Ogi, the ancestor of Vietnamese humanities. Every year during the Dragon Boat Festival, Vietnamese people will pay a solemn tribute to Ogi's mother, "to show gratitude and pay tribute to the motherland at the end of May".
Vietnam defines Dragon Boat Festival as "Insect Festival", which is called Insect Festival. Because the fifth day of May is the season change, pests are easy to get sick, so we must find ways to eliminate pests. In some places, people carry mugwort bags and bathe their whole bodies with herbs. These ceremonies are also for the balance of yin and yang. In addition to being busy killing pests, Vietnamese people will also prepare glutinous rice wine and fruits on this day to worship ancestors and gods and observe various customs.
