What season is Xiaoman? What month is it now?

Xiaoman is the second solar term in summer, so Xiaoman belongs to summer.

The time of Xiaoman solar term is generally from May 20th to May 22nd in the Gregorian calendar every year. At this time, it means that summer has entered the season of heavy precipitation. Not only will the rain begin to increase, but there will often be continuous large-scale rainfall.

Every year from May 20th to 22nd, when the sun reaches 60 degrees, it is midsummer, and it is also a time when diseases are easy to occur. The name "Xiaoman" comes from crops. The seeds of summer crops are full, but not yet mature, just small and not yet full.

Agricultural proverbs in southern China give Xiaoman a new meaning: "Xiaoman is not satisfied, he thinks about it"; "Little people are full of discontent, regardless of mangoes." The word "full" is used to describe the amount of rain, and it is pointed out that if there is not enough water in the field when it is full, the ridge may crack and even rice cannot be planted when it is planted.

Xiaoman's description

Generally speaking, during the Xiaoman period, the active warm and humid airflow in the south meets the cold air from north to south in South China, and then there will often be continuous and large-scale heavy precipitation in South China. Therefore, the late Xiaoman solar term is often the tense stage of flood control in these areas.

The arrival of Xiaoman means that the northern region will enter the longest sunshine period. Because the dry air in the north is easier to heat than the humid air in the south, the temperature difference between the north and the south is further reduced when it is full.

Xiaoman Sanhou:

Bitter vegetables show: Bitter vegetables flourish.

Grass Death: Some soft grass with cool branches began to die in the strong sunlight.
