What does Eid al-Fitr mean?

Muslims in Xinjiang Turkic language family call it "Jimin Festival". "Zirou" is Persian, which means "fasting". Hui Muslims in some parts of Ningxia call it "Big Deer"; Some Hui Muslims in Gansu, Qinghai and the eastern region also call it "Chinese New Year".

The custom of Eid al-Fitr

Eid al-Fitr usually lasts three days. From the dawn of the first day, every household got up early to clean the toilets indoors and outdoors, inside and outside the hospital and in the roadway, giving people a clean, comfortable and pleasant feeling. Adult Hui Muslims should take a bath by themselves. Men, women and children all put on their favorite clothes, and the children also washed their faces and combed their hair.

Mosques where Muslims meet should also be renovated and cleaned before the festival. In some places, in order to celebrate Eid al-Fitr, huge banners and colored lights were specially hung. At about eight o'clock in the morning (the bells of ceremonies will ring in some places), Muslims gather in mosques from all directions, southeast and northwest, with small blankets or prayer blankets.
