How to judge the damage of valve oil seal

Pacific Auto Network can judge whether the valve oil seal is broken by measuring the cylinder pressure and seeing whether the exhaust port emits blue smoke. If it is a piston ring problem, the amount of wear can be judged by the cylinder pressure data. Blue smoke is the phenomenon of burning engine oil, and the damage of valve oil seal is bound to be accompanied by burning engine oil.

The function of valve oil seal is to prevent engine oil from entering the intake and exhaust pipes, avoid engine oil loss, prevent the mixture of gasoline and air and waste gas from leaking, and prevent engine oil from entering the combustion chamber. Valve oil seal is one of the important parts of engine valve group. Once the valve oil seal is broken, the engine will have fault symptoms.

Symptoms of aging or damage of valve oil seal:

1, oil burning, blue smoke.

2, the spark plug carbon deposition is serious, and the engine power is reduced.

3. The decrease of sealing performance leads to insufficient cylinder pressure and the decrease of engine power.

4. Accelerated oil consumption directly leads to engine cylinder explosion due to lubrication and cooling failure.

Causes of oil leakage caused by oil seal aging:

1, assembly reason; When assembling, if the threads or splines are not aligned, the aligned teeth will leak oil due to poor sealing, and the oil seal itself will also be damaged.

2. Material problem: the spring tightness does not meet the technical requirements. If it is too tight, it will lead to improper matching between the oil seal and the rotating shaft and abnormal wear. If it is too loose, the pressure will be too small to press up and the sealing effect will not be achieved.

3. The oil seal and the rotating shaft are different axes, resulting in eccentric wear, which leads to abnormal wear of the lip.

4. Without the lip grease of oil seal, dry friction will occur, and mechanical wear will soon smooth the mouth.
