When is midsummer?

Midsummer refers to the mid-month in summer, that is, the May of the lunar calendar. The ancients used Meng, Zhong and Ji to mean first, second and smallest. Therefore, according to the chronological order, summer is divided into three periods: Xia Meng, midsummer and Xia Ji. For example, according to the Gregorian calendar, Xia Meng is in May, the midsummer is in June, and the last month of summer is in July, because the direct point of the sun on the summer solstice is on the Tropic of Cancer, and the summer solstice is always on June 2650 of the Gregorian calendar. As midsummer, midsummer represents the peak of high temperature, humidity and hot weather in summer. In the traditional culture of China, midsummer is an important solar term, marking the official arrival of summer. The high temperature and high humidity in midsummer are prone to thunderstorms, heavy rains and other weather, and it is also a period when all kinds of plants flourish.
