How to harvest and process Bupleurum chinense?
Some people compare the root of Bupleurum chinense DC. One-year and two-year rooting showed that the content of DC total saponins in Bupleurum chinense DC was much higher than that in two-year rooting. The total saponin content of one-year rooting is 1.57%, and that of two-year rooting is only 1. 19%, but the dry weight of two-year rooting is more than three times that of one-year rooting. Therefore, considering the total output, it will take two years to take root. Generally, 667m2 produces 50 ~ 60kg of dry goods, and the high yield can reach 150kg. The aboveground part can be harvested 100 ~ 250 kg (whole grass with roots or aboveground parts are used in some parts of China).
When the ground part withers in autumn, it is harvested. First cut off the stems and leaves on the ground, then dig out the roots and wash the soil to dry or dry. Commodity specifications require that the stems are crisp, the residual stems are not more than 1cm, and there is no hair, impurities, insects and mildew.
