Land Rover found out how to install No.5 torque converter.

Refer to Automatic Transmission Disassembly.

1. Clean the outside of the transmission, and remove all the components installed on the automatic transmission housing, such as the oil filler pipe and the neutral start switch;

2. Remove the hydraulic torque converter from the front of the automatic transmission, loosen the fastening bolts, remove the hydraulic torque converter housing at the front end of the automatic transmission, remove the flange of the output shaft and the rear end housing of the automatic transmission, and remove the induction rotor of the speed sensor from the output shaft;

3. Remove the oil pan, remove the oil pan 19 connecting bolt, insert the blade of the special maintenance tool between the transmission and the oil pan, and cut the sealant, taking care not to damage the oil pan flange;

4. Check the particles in the oil pan. Remove the magnet and observe the collected metal particles. If it is made of steel (magnetic), it means that the steel plates of bearings, gears and clutches are worn. If it is brass (non-magnetic), the bushing is worn.

5. Remove all wiring harness plugs connected to the valve plate, four solenoid valves, throttle cable connected to the throttle valve, carefully lift the hydraulic oil pipe with a screwdriver, loosen the fixing bolts between the oil inlet screen and the valve plate, and remove the oil inlet filter from the valve plate;

6. Remove the connecting bolt between the valve plate and the automatic transmission housing, remove the valve plate assembly, take out the check valve, spring and accumulator piston in the oil circuit of the automatic transmission housing, remove the manual valve pull rod and parking lock claw, and remove the manual valve operating shaft if necessary.

7. Remove the oil pump fixing bolts and pull out the oil pump assembly with special tools.
