How is thyroid nodule caused? Where is the thyroid nodule?
First, the unreasonable intake of iodine
During the period of growth and development, pregnancy, breastfeeding, etc., the human body's demand for thyroid hormone has greatly increased. The increase of thyroid hormone causes relative iodine deficiency. Once iodine intake is insufficient, it will cause thyroid hyperplasia and endocrine disorder, which will lead to the appearance of thyroid nodules.
If you eat high-iodine food for a long time, such as seafood or high-iodine salt, or other foods with high iodine content, it may also lead to excessive iodine in the body, stimulate the proliferation of thyroid cells and cause thyroid nodules.
Second, genetic factors.
Many thyroid nodules are familial, due to genetic enzyme defects, leading to hormone synthesis disorders.
Third, the history of X-ray exposure.
International research shows that 20% of thyroid nodules may have a history of X-ray irradiation in early childhood, so X-rays will cause DNA changes, which is also an important reason for thyroid nodules.
Fourth, mental stimulation.
Due to excessive psychological and mental stress, it will cause endocrine fluctuations and make our thyroid hormone secretion abnormal. Female estrogen is also closely related to thyroid gland, and the change of its hormone level can cause the formation of nodules. This is also the reason why thyroid nodules are more common in women in clinic.
2 Where is the thyroid nodule? The thyroid gland is located on both sides of the trachea in front of the neck, below the thyroid cartilage. Divided into two leaves, there is a narrow isthmus in the middle.
If the cells of this thyroid tissue proliferate intensively, when the cell content in unit volume obviously exceeds the normal value, thyroid nodules will be formed. It can be round or oval, and the capsule is mostly complete, with smooth surface and flexible texture, and the size can reach several millimeters to several centimeters. The lump often moves up and down with the thyroid gland, accompanied by swallowing.
3 Can thyroid nodules cause neck pain Generally speaking, thyroid nodules do not cause neck pain. However, some thyroid diseases can cause thyroid pain and peripheral lymph node pain, forming thyroid nodules, such as subacute thyroiditis.
When malignant thyroid nodules occur, it may lead to swelling and inflammation of the surrounding lymph nodes, which may lead to neck pain.
4 Can thyroid nodules be massaged? Generally speaking, do not directly massage thyroid nodules. If the manipulation and strength are not appropriate, it will lead to the rupture and bleeding of thyroid nodules. It is not recommended to massage thyroid nodules directly.
According to the theory of traditional Chinese medicine, massage can soothe the liver and relieve depression, which is helpful to adjust the endocrine of patients, eliminate nodules or slow down the growth of nodules.
