The intake manifold is a carburetor or throttle body gasoline injection engine, and the intake manifold refers to the intake pipe from the back of the carburetor or throttle body to the front of the air inlet of the cylinder head.

After the car runs for a period of time, the fuel system will form certain deposits. The formation of deposits is directly related to automobile fuel: firstly, because gasoline itself contains colloid and impurities, or dust and impurities brought in during storage and transportation, deposits similar to sludge are formed in automobile fuel tanks and oil intake pipes over time; Secondly, unstable components such as olefins in gasoline undergo oxidative polymerization at a certain temperature to form mucilage and resinous mucilage. These viscous substances will become hard carbon deposits when deposited on the fuel nozzle, intake valve, combustion chamber, (rarely on the top of the cylinder head) and other parts.

Serious carbon deposition in the intake manifold will lead to poor intake of the engine, resulting in engine weakness and idling jitter. At the same time, if the mixture is too rich, the power will decrease obviously and the fuel consumption will increase to a certain extent. The increase in fuel consumption is due to the need to increase the throttle opening and fuel supply in order to obtain the same power before carbon deposition. Therefore, once the power drops or the fuel consumption increases, it is necessary to consider whether the engine has the problem of carbon deposition and needs to be cleaned in time.
