Root: the fibrous root system is the chord root, and there is no lateral root. There are about 40 roots mainly distributed in 30cm topsoil, which are divided into three types: absorption roots, semi-storage roots and storage roots. It is inserted at the base of the shortened stem, which is a disc-shaped metamorphosis of the stem, with roots at the lower part and leaves at the upper part.

Stems: Stems are divided into vegetative stems and flowering stems. Annual and biennial vegetative stems are shortened and transformed into a disc, which is called bulb disc. Due to tillering and root jumping, the shortened stems gradually grow to the surface, with an average annual elongation of 65,438+0.0-2.0 cm, and a gourd-shaped rhizome is formed below the bulb disc. Rootstock is an important organ for storing nutrients.

Flowers: Umbrella covered by conical involucre, with 20-30 small flowers inside. The floret is bisexual, with white corolla, 6 perianth segments and 6 stamens. The ovary is superior and cross-pollinated.

Fruit seed: The fruit is a capsule with 3 ovaries and 2 ovules in each chamber. Mature seeds are black and shield-shaped, with a 1000-grain weight of 4-6g.
