The detection steps of throttle sensor are as follows:

1. Read the data stream. When reading the data stream of TPS, you should slowly press and release the accelerator pedal to observe, so as to avoid the foot pad blocking the opening or closing of the throttle valve, which will lead to inaccurate detection data.

2. Measure the voltage of the throttle position sensor. The signal voltage of the throttle position sensor increases with the increase of throttle opening. When the throttle valve is fully open, its signal voltage is close to 5V, and when the throttle valve is closed (idling), its signal voltage is about 0.5V.

3. Test of unplugging the sensor connector. For an automobile equipped with an automatic transmission, if it is suspected that the failure of the throttle position sensor (TPS) will cause the shift impact of the automatic transmission, you can unplug the TPS for a test drive and use manual shift. If the upshift and downshift are free at this time, it means that the mechanical part of the automatic transmission is normal, the problem lies in the control part, and TPS may be faulty.
