In the lunar calendar, each earthly branch corresponds to 24 solar terms from one solar term to the next (this solar term is not all 24 solar terms, but actually refers to odd solar terms, such as the Spring Festival, and even solar terms are called neutral gas, such as rain). The starting period of a month is determined by the node time, not from the first day to the end of a lunar month.

Because solar terms are actually accurate to the hour, not to the day, you may see that on some calendars, May 5 has already shown the past month, but the day before and after the solar terms can't be wrong.
