The English full name of EPC of Pacific Auto Network is ElectronicPowerControl, which is the electronic adjustment of engine power (electronic throttle). When this light is on, it indicates that there is a fault in the electronic throttle system, which will affect the normal use of the vehicle. When the EPC light is on, the owner should not take it lightly and need to repair and test the vehicle in time.

Basic principles:

Gasoline engines generally use electronic throttles. In order to meet the requirements of three-way catalytic conversion of gasoline engines, the air-fuel ratio should be kept around 1. In this way, the fuel injection quantity is required to be proportional to the throttle opening, and the on-board computer will find the fuel injection quantity in this case through calculation or table lookup according to the throttle pedal opening collected by the sensor, so that the air-fuel ratio of the engine can meet the requirements. That is to say, the power of the engine is indirectly controlled by controlling the opening of the electronic throttle of the engine.

General vehicles have signs of EPC. After the key door is opened, the vehicle starts self-inspection, and the EPC indicator light will light up for a few seconds and then go out. If the vehicle does not go out after starting, it means that the mechanical and electronic system of the vehicle has failed. Generally speaking, EPC lights have two possibilities. First, the throttle is dirty and needs cleaning. In another case, the brake light is not on, so it is necessary to check the brake switch and wiring.
