What are the climatic characteristics of Beijing?

I have worked and lived in Beijing for more than 30 years. I describe the climate in Beijing as hot in summer and cold in winter, with no spring and autumn.

The weather in Beijing is very hot in summer, the surface temperature can reach more than 40 degrees Celsius, and people are going to dry up, and the ultraviolet rays are particularly strong. It will get very dark in summer, and any sunscreen is ineffective for me. It becomes a big steamer in dog days. It is hot and humid, often suffering from heatstroke, and it is too hot to sleep at night.

Winter in Beijing is particularly cold. With a cold wind, it hurts to blow on your face, and it hurts to feel the wind blowing on your head without a hat. The wind takes away the moisture, and I often feel thirsty, chapped and shed my skin, but I feel uncomfortable anyway.

The weather in Beijing in spring and autumn is extremely short, which is relatively one of the few most comfortable days. The cool breeze with temperature in Xu Lai is refreshing, the sky is high and the clouds are light, which is an eye-opener and the sun is shining.
