How to draw lotus and lotus leaf in Chinese painting?

Tools/materials: pen, ink, paper, inkstone.

1. Draw the belly button of the leaf cover in the upper right corner of the figure, and then draw the drooping ribs of the leaf cover.

2. Spread the ink painting on the leaf cover by point-to-point method. When dipping in ink, the ink color should not be too uniform. Lighten the ink first, then dip the pen tip with thick ink. Sweep the pen from the inside (belly button) to the outside (leaf cover edge) to the leaf cover edge, and then lift it again. Gradually close the pen at the belly button and lift it. In this way, the ink drop pen on the edge of the leaf cover is solid, and the periphery of the navel eye is empty, which looks natural, vivid and stereoscopic.

3. The drawing method of the positive leaf in the lower right corner is the same as that in the second step. Location and fitness are the same. When writing ink, pay attention to leave a gap in the lower right corner to have a thorough feeling. The ink is lighter than the last leaf and has distinct layers.

4. Add two lotus leaves after painting lotus leaves, lotus flowers and lotus stalks, and pay attention to the cross relationship between the posture of lotus leaves and lotus stalks and leaf covers.

5. Point the stamens, outline the ribs on the reeds, point out the thorns on the lotus stalks and the moss spots on the pond surface, complete the picture, and finally seal it.
