Traditional Culture Encyclopedia - The 24 Solar Terms - Spring ploughing around solar terms.
Spring ploughing around solar terms.
In climatology, spring refers to the period when the average temperature is between 10℃ and 22℃. Speaking of beginning of spring, people obviously feel that the days are getting longer and the sun is getting warmer. Temperature, sunshine and rainfall are often at the turning point of the year and tend to rise or increase.
Beginning of spring solar terms began, westerly jet, the southern branch of East Asia, began to weaken, and the winter climate was coming to an end. However, the intensity and location of the northern branch of westerly jet remain basically the same, the Mongolian cold high and Aleutian low are still relatively strong, and gale cooling is still the prevailing main weather. However, during the intermission under the influence of strong cold air, the frequency of southerly winds increases, accompanied by an obvious warming process.
After the shock, most parts of China entered the busy season of spring ploughing. In most areas, the average temperature of scary solar terms is generally from 12℃ to 14℃, which is higher than that of rain solar terms. Above 3℃, it is the solar term with the fastest annual warming. The sunshine time has also increased significantly. However, due to the alternation of cold and warm air, the weather is unstable and the temperature fluctuates greatly.
A sunny day in early spring means it will be sunny in early spring, and the weather will be fine this year, so farmers don't have to work hard. On that day in beginning of spring, it was raining, wet and sunny, which means that if the weather is fine in early spring, the whole spring will be fine and sunny. However, if it rains continuously in the spring, there may be continuous rainy weather before and after Tomb-Sweeping Day.
The origin and meaning of the twenty-four solar terms
Twenty-four solar terms are the product of ancient farming civilization, which contains the long-standing cultural connotation and historical accumulation of the Chinese nation. It was originally formulated according to the shift of stars, and the ancients guided agricultural production according to the direction of the Big Dipper in the night sky. During the period of Emperor Wu of the Western Han Dynasty, "Twenty-four solar terms" were included in taichu calendar as a supplement to guide the agricultural calendar.
The current "twenty-four solar terms" originated from the method of dividing according to the longitude of the sun more than 300 years ago, and it has been used since 1645. From the establishment of the constitutional calendar to the present, the "lunar calendar" and "twenty-four solar terms" are determined according to the position of the sun on the regression line of the ecliptic (the degree of the sun), that is, on the 360-degree circle of the ecliptic.
