What's the difference between self-priming and turbocharging?

The difference between self-priming and turbocharging of Pacific automobile network lies in different working principles, different power output, different maintenance costs, different fuel consumption and different manufacturing costs.

A turbocharged engine is an engine equipped with a turbocharger. Its working principle is to use the inertia impulse of exhaust gas from the engine to drive the turbine in the turbine chamber, and the turbine drives the coaxial impeller, which forces more air into the intake manifold through high-speed rotation, thus improving the combustion work efficiency of the engine.

Naturally aspirated engine is a form of using atmospheric pressure to force air into the combustion chamber without any supercharger. Does it mean that air simply passes through the air filter? Throttle? Intake pipe? Cylinder.

Under the same displacement, the power of turbocharging explosion is obviously stronger than that of natural inhalation, which is the difference between them.

In terms of maintenance cost, stronger power may lead to faster performance and reliability decline than inhalation, so the maintenance cost of turbocharged engines is also higher in the later stage.

In terms of fuel consumption, under the same displacement, if the vehicle is mainly used as a means of transportation, there is no need to buy a turbocharged car, because the fuel consumption performance of turbocharging in stop-and-go sections may not be as good as that of natural inhalation.

Of course, if vehicles often have to go at high speed, then saving fuel consumption is the advantage of turbocharging.
