Hunchun's Spring Festival tradition

In the folk, the Spring Festival in the traditional sense refers to the sacrificial ceremony from the eighth day of the twelfth lunar month to the fifteenth day of the first lunar month in La Worship, with New Year's Eve and the first day of the first lunar month as the climax.

During the Spring Festival, all ethnic groups in our country will hold various activities to celebrate. Although thousands of miles have different winds and centuries have different customs, except for the differences in details, activities all over the country are basically the same. These activities are mainly to offer sacrifices to gods and buddhas, ancestors, bid farewell to the old and welcome the new, and pray for the new. Specific habits include: offering sacrifices to stoves, sweeping dust, posting Spring Festival couplets, changing door gods, cutting window grilles, hanging New Year pictures, eating New Year's Eve, observing the New Year's Eve, setting off firecrackers, worshipping the heavens and the earth, worshiping ancestors, welcoming XiShen, giving lucky money, welcoming the god of wealth and many other Spring Festival activities.
