Xiaoman's composition is 600 words.
The ancients said, "In mid-April, things are small and full." It describes the eighth of the 24 solar terms-Xiaoman. There is a legend behind the solar term Xiaoman: It is said that a family took in a beggar girl named Sanxin. Later, the owner of this family, Xiaoman, liked Sanxin very much and planned to marry her. On their wedding day, Sanxin was taken away by an official, and Xiaoman has been looking for Sanxin.
Later, I finally found it, only to find that Sanxin was the third daughter of the God of Valley in heaven, and was knocked down because she wanted to send grain seeds to the world. After seeing Xiaoman, Sanxin took out a cocoon, a garlic and some barley seeds. Xiaoman gave three things to the villagers. The next year, silkworms, garlic and barley were harvested, so people called this season "Xiaoman Festival", and silkworms, garlic and barley were called "three new".
There are also some agricultural proverbs that describe Xiaoman: Xiaoman Xiaoman, the wheat is almost full. Small full seedlings, no peaches, less peaches. There are many folk customs in the solar term "Xiaoman"! Sacrificing car gods: Sacrificing car gods is very popular in rural areas. It is said that the car god is a white dragon. People put fish, incense and a glass of white water in front of the car water on the seat and worship it.
When offering sacrifices, white water is poured into the ground, indicating that the water source is endless. Sacrifice to silkworms: Silkworm boards are easily affected by temperature, humidity and other environments. The ancients regarded it as a "natural thing". Forgiveness and praying for a bumper harvest led to the custom of offering sacrifices to silkworms. Xiaoman is really meaningful!
What's so particular about Xiaoman?
1, silkworm sacrifice
Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces are rich in soil and water, and sericulture thrives in rural areas. Silkworm babies are very delicate and difficult to raise. Therefore, in Xiao Man season, a festival of praying for silkworms will be held in Jiangsu and Zhejiang to pray for the forgiveness of "natural things" and get a good harvest in sericulture.
2. Sacrifice the car god
Sacrificing the car god is an ancient small custom in some rural areas. In related legends, Erche God is a white dragon. People put fish, incense sticks and other items on the waterwheel to worship. The most interesting thing is that there will be a glass of white water during the sacrifice, which will be poured into the field during the worship, which means blessing the prosperity of the inkstone.
Step 3 grab water
No matter where, crops can't grow without water. The custom of "grabbing water" in Xiaoman season is actually a portrayal of the real life of Shanghai farmers. Farmers take the village as a unit and hold a ceremony of "grabbing water" when Xiaoman is full. The senior deacon will convene the convenor to prepare in advance. At the dawn of Xiaoman Day, they will start together and light torches on the foundation of the waterwheel. When the deacons use drums and gongs as their signals, all of them will respond together and start pedaling on the waterwheel to introduce the river into the fields.
