The origin and legend of Tomb-Sweeping Day.

Tomb-Sweeping Day is the traditional Spring Festival in China, which is both a natural solar term and a traditional festival.

The origin of Tomb-Sweeping Day can be traced back to ancient ancestral beliefs and spring ceremonies, and it is the biggest festival of ancestor worship for the Chinese nation.

There are two kinds of legends in Tomb-Sweeping Day. One is that during the Three Kingdoms period, which is far away from us, Zhuge Liang, the prime minister of Shu Han, made a will before his death. After death, you can't be extravagant and buried in a thin coffin. The imperial court did not build an ancestral temple for him. However, during the three days of the Cold Food Festival, many ordinary people spontaneously placed tributes in the fields and came to worship their old friends to express their thoughts for their deceased relatives.

Another legend originated in the Spring and Autumn Period. Zhong Er, the son of the State of Jin, was forced to flee. During 19' s escape, he was often hungry and cold. On one occasion, he followed his courtiers to push Zhong Er's body, quietly cut off a piece of meat on his leg, and then stewed soup in front of Zhong Er's bed. Zhong Er swore with tears: "Sir, you are so kind, and Zhong Er will definitely repay you when he becomes king in the future."
