Tomb-Sweeping Day, why are you going for an outing?
In ancient times, Tomb-Sweeping Day was regarded as an outing festival. Since the Tang Dynasty, people have been sweeping graves in Tomb-Sweeping Day, accompanied by recreational activities. The poem of the Tang Dynasty poet Wang Wei said, "Young people travel in another day, without having to go to Tomb-Sweeping Day, and go to the third place at the same time". On the one hand, it shows that playful children are often not satisfied with traveling only in Tomb-Sweeping Day; on the other hand, it also shows the trend that Tomb-Sweeping Day and Shangsi gradually merge.
Due to the Qingming grave sweeping, it is spring, the vegetation turns green, and the fields are bright and fragrant. Grave-sweepers often "cry, don't come back, look for trees, choose nurseries, sit in a row and get drunk", which has evolved from a simple ritual activity to a successful spring outing at the same time.
