Who invented the 24 solar terms?

The twenty-four solar terms were gradually established, not invented by a fixed person.

Today, the decorative Chinese watch column in front of the building is an instrument for observing the sky and measuring the earth in the era of Emperor Yan. People take a tree as a pole, measure the orientation, time and solar terms through the length of the sun shadow, and observe the period of the stars. Early ancestors also used this "sundial" to divide the 24 solar terms, and thus realized the cosmic concept of "the sky is round and the place is round". In this way, solar terms have been invented for at least 6000 years.

Later, Yao Dian in Shangshu recorded "Japan-China", "Sun Yong", "Night" and "Short Day", which were equivalent to the four solar terms of vernal equinox, summer solstice, autumn equinox and winter solstice. In Zhou Li, there are "winter and summer arrive at the sun, and spring and autumn arrive at the moon to distinguish the four seasons", "winter solstice, playing on the ground dome" ... summer solstice, playing on Zezhongguang Mountain, which clearly puts forward the winter solstice and summer solstice. At the end of the Warring States Period, Lu Chunqiu included the names of equinox (vernal equinox, autumnal equinox), summer, winter, beginning of spring, Changxia, beginning of autumn, beginning of winter, Liyu, long summer and Lishuang. During the Western Han Dynasty, the 24 solar terms were completely established.
