What is the cold dew solar term?

Every year from July 7 to 9 in Gregorian calendar 10 year 10, when the sun reaches 195, it is an annual cold dew. Cold dew is the seventeenth solar term in the twenty-four solar terms of the lunar calendar and the fifth solar term in autumn. The arrival of cold dew indicates the official end of autumn.

The three solar terms, White Dew, Cold Dew and First Frost in autumn, all indicate the phenomenon of water vapor condensation, and the cold dew is the transition from cool to cold. Twenty-four solar terms record: "In September, dew is cold and will condense", which means that the temperature of dew is lower when it is cold than when it is white, and the water on the ground will soon condense into frost.

After the cold dew, Nanling and the vast area to the north have entered autumn, the northeast has entered late autumn, and the northwest has entered or will enter winter. At this time, people should nourish yin and prevent dryness, eat more foods that moisten the lungs and benefit the stomach, and avoid excessive exercise and fatigue.

The cold dew is coming, and the temperature in most parts of the south continues to drop. The average daily temperature in South China is less than 20℃. Even in the areas along the Yangtze River, it is difficult for the temperature to rise above 30℃, while the minimum temperature can drop below 10℃.

Except for a few valley lowlands, the five-day average temperature in the northwest plateau is generally lower than 10℃, which is already winter according to the standard of four seasons climate division. Thousands of miles away, first frost and Wan Li are snowing, which is very different from autumn in South China.
