1. Make sure the engine is hot.

2. Turn the crankshaft so that the piston of the cylinder to be tested is at the compression top dead center.

3. Measure the clearance between the cam and tappet (or rocker arm and push rod) with a feeler gauge.

Compare the measured clearance value with the standard value and adjust the valve clearance if necessary.

Check the throttle body:

1. Remove the outlet pipe of the air filter.

2. Check the throttle body hole and throttle plate for carbon deposition. The throttle plate must be opened to check all surfaces. At the same time, check whether the throttle pivot rotates flexibly.

Throttle body cleaning:

1. For a small amount of carbon deposit, it can be cleaned in the car without disassembly.

2. If there is too much carbon deposit, the throttle body needs to be disassembled for cleaning. Clean the throttle body hole and throttle plate with clean absorbent cotton and advanced engine cleaner or equivalent.

Self-adaptation of throttle body;

After the throttle body is cleaned, it is necessary to adapt the throttle body and learn the idle speed by yourself.

The methods of throttle self-learning and idle self-learning will be different for different models. But there are two basic forms: one is to calibrate the throttle body with a special diagnostic instrument for vehicles; The other is to adapt by turning on or off the ignition key or the computer itself.
