Wu Outing (19 13-2005), a painter and poet, was born in Jiaxing, Zhejiang. Influenced by Jin and other predecessors since childhood, he loved Kunqu opera and calligraphy and painting.

Before Wu Outing's weak crown, he worshipped the famous painter Guo Sixun as his teacher. The elders only teach literature, not copying in the studio. This peculiar teaching method helps Yu Xiansheng to freely develop and shape his personality. After the founding of New China, Mr. Liu was hired as a typology expert by Jiaxing Library in Zhejiang Province to sort out the ancient books of Liu Library, a famous library in Nanxun.
