The alignment method of Volkswagen 07 Santana is as follows.

1. Align the crankshaft according to the marks on the crankshaft timing pulley. Generally, the piston top dead center position of 1 cylinder is required.

2. Install a mark on the camshaft timing pulley, aim at the camshaft, and aim at the positions of the two camshafts respectively for double camshafts;

3. Install the timing belt/chain.

Only the camshaft gear is marked on the engine timing gear, and other gears are not marked. First, turn the engine so that cylinders 1 and 6 reach the top dead center. Then assemble other gears except camshaft gear, and see that there is a mark on the machine body, so that the mark of camshaft gear coincides with this mark. After that, rotate the engine to make it about 22 degrees before the top dead center, adjust the fuel injection pump to make it in the state that the first cylinder has just delivered oil, and lock the screw.
