What happens to the engine when the air flow sensor fails?
Common faults of air flowmeter include short circuit, open circuit or abnormal intake signal. Its failure will make the computer unable to measure the intake air into the engine correctly, thus unable to control the fuel injection normally, resulting in the mixture being too rich or too lean, which will make the engine run abnormally.
Air flowmeter is a high-precision component. During maintenance and disassembly, care should be taken not to collide, not to let dirt enter the flowmeter, and not to put tools or fingers into the flowmeter at will to avoid damage. There are many kinds of air flow meters, and their structural principles are quite different, and their maintenance methods are also different.
