What does aps mean? On the bus.

Automobile aps is an accelerator pedal sensor, which is also called accelerator pedal. It is a device to control the engine accelerator and fuel injection pump.

After the driver steps on the accelerator pedal, the sensor will send a signal to the ecu, and then the ecu will adjust the accelerator opening according to the signal.

Early engines used a cable accelerator, and the accelerator was connected to the accelerator pedal through a steel wire. At present, all engines use electronic accelerator, and the accelerator pedal and accelerator are not connected. The accelerator pedal has a sensor. After the driver steps on the pedal, the sensor feeds back the signal to the ecu, and then the ecu adjusts the throttle opening according to the driver's stepping on the pedal and other factors.

Electronic throttle:

The advantage of electronic throttle is that ecu can control the engine more accurately. Modern cars are equipped with many electronic systems. If a cable throttle is used, the ECU cannot control the throttle.

When the vehicle slips or the traction is too large, the electronic control unit can reduce the throttle opening, thus restraining the vehicle from slipping.

However, the response speed of the electronic throttle is not as fast as that of the pull-rope throttle. At present, many modified racing cars still use the cable throttle.

The throttle valve is easy to deposit carbon, so it needs to be removed to clean up the carbon deposit. After cleaning, it needs to be matched with ecu again, otherwise it may increase the fuel consumption of the vehicle. The throttle valve is located in front of the intake manifold. If the carbon deposit on the accelerator is serious, it may lead to unstable idle speed of the vehicle.
