What is a Volvo accelerator?

As the saying goes, it is a throttle valve, which is used to control the intake of the engine. Also known as throttle valve.

Automobile throttle and throttle are two completely different things. Throttle, also called throttle, controls air intake and is controlled by the accelerator pedal under your feet.

The throttle valve is generally installed on the intake manifold. The intake valve is a piston controlled by the camshaft of the engine. When the intake valve is opened, air can flow into the cylinder.

According to the pressure change of the throttle valve action pipe, the action valve has three action positions: pressure relief, braking and pressure maintenance.

Relieving position When the pressure of the action pipe below the action piston drops, the action piston drives the hollow valve stem to move down under the pressure of the brake cylinder and the relief spring, the upper end of the hollow valve stem leaves the bottom of the air supply valve, the exhaust valve opens, and the brake cylinder pressure air above the piston is discharged into the atmosphere through the central hole of the hollow valve stem, so that the locomotive is in a relieved state.

(2) Pressure maintaining function. When the pressure of the action pipe below the piston increases, the action piston moves upward together with the hollow valve stem. First, the upper end of the hollow valve stem is closely attached to the bottom surface of the air supply valve, which closes the air outlet. Then, the air supply valve is pushed open to open the air supply valve.

(3) Braking function. When in the braking position, due to the rising of the brake cylinder pressure, the pressure above the acting piston gradually increases, and the acting piston gradually moves down under the action of the brake cylinder pressure above it, the release spring and the spring pressure of the air supply valve, and the opening of the air supply valve gradually decreases.
