The most widely distributed climate type in North America

Temperate continental climate is the most widely distributed in North America.

North America's tropical rain forest climate, savanna climate, tropical desert climate, Mediterranean climate, subtropical monsoon and subtropical humid climate, temperate maritime climate, temperate continental climate (including subtropical coniferous forest climate; ), polar climate (including tundra and ice field climate) and plateau mountain climate are all distributed. Temperate continental climate is the most widely distributed.

The climate distribution law in North America: the climate types on the west coast of the mainland are vertically distributed from north to south, and the climate types on the east coast are widely distributed because there are tall Cordillera mountains in the west. There is no temperate monsoon climate in the eastern region because the central region is flat and low-lying, connecting the coast of the Arctic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico. Warm and humid air from the Atlantic Ocean in summer and cold air from the Arctic Ocean in winter can drive in directly.

The western part of the United States is a mountain system, and the eastern part is a plateau and mountains, which weakens the influence from the Pacific Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean. The central part is a vast plain, which makes the central part form a corridor running through the north and south. In winter, cold air can reach the coast of the Gulf of Mexico, and in spring and summer, warm and humid air from the Gulf of Mexico can also be pushed northward to reach the vicinity of Hudson Bay. This is why there are many snowstorms in winter and heavy rains in summer in the United States.
