The ancient poem Xiaoman Song Ouyang Xiu

Xiao Man, an ancient poem by Ouyang Xiu in Song Dynasty, was originally a nightingale singing green willows and a bright moon waking the sky. I love long-headed wheat most, and I laugh in the wind.

In the full season, the nightingale crows freely on the lush willow branches, and the bright moon illuminates the sky in the Wan Li. I like to watch the wheat in front of the ridge at this time of the year, swaying gently in the early summer wind and watching the ground turn red.

Appreciate:

Ouyang Xiu seems to like the solar term Xiaoman very much. He also wrote "Two Four Seasons Songs in the Countryside (Part II)", which together with this five-character quatrain became the most popular ancient poem about Xiaoman, and also revealed Ouyang Xiu's yearning for pastoral seclusion. This poem has a strong sense of picture and color. We can think of green, yellow, red and blue, just like a classic painting.

The sense of color in poetry is immersive, and the first two sentences are refreshing and a little sad, because the nightingale always reminds people of Keats' Ode to the Nightingale, Wilde's Nightingale and Rose, Andersen's Nightingale and other related literary works. The nightingale is the embodiment of a lover with the spirit of self-sacrifice, and also a natural and joyful spirit.
