How to deal with 17 Highlander accelerator pedal failure

If there is too much sludge in the accelerator, it may cause poor engine acceleration and increase fuel consumption, which is a big worry for the owner. What should I do if the throttle is dirty? As long as you clean it, you can get it in the 4S shop quickly, but don't you go to the 4S shop every time? Actually, you don't have to. You can handle it yourself. Just don't forget to initialize.

First, apply a little oil on the fixed metal beam ring to avoid slipping teeth during disassembly. Remove the metal wire harness ring of the throttle hose. After the hose is removed, the left end is the position of the throttle. Remove the negative electrode of the battery, turn off the ignition switch, straighten the throttle plate, spray a small amount of "carburetor cleaner" into the throttle, and then carefully scrub it with polyester rag or high-spin "non-woven fabric". Deep in the throttle, you can hold the rag and scrub it carefully where your hands can't reach it.

When cleaning the throttle valve, it is not necessary to disassemble it, but the sealing part of the inlet steam must be cleaned, and the idle motor must be disassembled for cleaning. There are advantages and disadvantages of cleaning nozzles by borrowing and disassembling. Generally speaking, the maintenance station suggests disassembling and washing, which can prevent other unnecessary waste, such as replacing the sealing ring after disassembling or installing other gaskets, or delaying the owner's time because of oil and gas leakage when disassembling.

After cleaning, the throttle will be initialized according to the disassembly procedure just now. After cleaning the throttle, it needs to be initialized, because the computer has a memory function when adjusting the throttle opening, because there was sludge blockage in the past. In order to ensure the air intake, the computer will automatically adjust the throttle opening to make the air intake in a normal state.

But there is no sludge blockage after cleaning. If the throttle valve still maintains its previous opening, it will cause excessive intake air. As a result, the engine will shake when starting, and the acceleration will be weak, and the engine fault light may light up.

Then why does the engine sometimes work normally without initialization after cleaning the throttle? That's because the throttle is not too dirty, and its intake has not changed much after cleaning. However, the change of the throttle valve after cleaning is invisible to the naked eye and needs to be initialized.
