Grafting time and method of jujube
The suitable time for jujube grafting is spring and autumn, and the specific time is March-April in early spring and September-165438+1October in autumn. Autumn is the best choice for grafting. After grafting, the plant can enter the normal growth stage in about three months. The climate is warmer at this time, which is more conducive to germination and fruiting.
Jujube grafting method
Jujube trees generally have four grafting methods: skin grafting, split grafting, abdominal grafting and bud grafting. The commonly used grafting method is skin grafting, also called subcutaneous transplantation. This method is suitable for the case that the thickness of rootstock is greater than that of scion. First, cut the scion into smooth 3-5 cm long parts. In order to facilitate the insertion, cut the back of the lower end of the long section into a short slope of 0.5cm, cut off the rootstock at the smooth part of the branch bark to flatten the cross section, and cut a longitudinal cut on one side of the rootstock with a knife to penetrate into the xylem. When cutting the scion, cut the short side of the branch outward, cut the long side inward, and then insert it downward against the seam. Don't insert all parts of the scion into the rootstock. It is best to have a white upper part of 0.4-0.5cm to help the wound heal. Finally, tie the wound with plastic strips.
Matters needing attention in jujube grafting
1. Three days before the jujube tree is grafted, it is necessary to pay attention to watering the rootstock, and immediately water it again after grafting to increase the water content of the rootstock. 2. After the jujube tree is grafted, the adventitious buds on the rootstock are easy to germinate, which will affect the survival and growth of the grafted buds. It is necessary to eliminate the sprout of rootstocks in time. Generally, it takes 3~4 times to de-germinate, so that the plants have sufficient nutrients to heal. 3. Generally, after the grafted seedlings survive, they need to be untied once in the middle and late June and completely untied at the end of August. At the same time, the budding branches and branches of the scion should be tied tightly to avoid grafting failure caused by strong wind breaking.
