Garlic growth process

1. Sowing: Plant the screened high-quality garlic cloves in the classified fields according to the established plant spacing and row spacing. The time is about 10 (early autumn equinox) from late September to early October, and the average temperature is about 18℃.

2. Germination: It takes about 10 days for garlic to germinate, which is closely related to the climate and sowing depth at that time.

3. Seedling stage: The seedling stage of garlic is from breaking ground to emergence to turning green years later. This stage of garlic seedling is the key period of nutrient accumulation, and the later development and growth mainly depend on nutrient accumulation in this period. Under normal circumstances, garlic needs to grow to 4~6 leaves in order to survive the winter safely.

4. Green stage: After overwintering, garlic seedlings begin to return to normal green and enter the stage of rapid vegetative growth. It is probably the green period of garlic from late February to late March.

5. Bolting period: the critical period of bolting of garlic seedlings, which is a period of simultaneous vegetative growth and reproductive growth, and there is a great demand for water and fertilizer. When bolting is about to end, it will enter reproductive growth.

6. Bulb expansion period: also known as bulb expansion period, from the end of garlic bolting or bud differentiation to garlic harvest. The quality of management in this period directly determines the yield and quality of garlic.
