How to replace the timing belt

1. Turn the crankshaft of the engine so that the piston of the first cylinder is at the top dead center position and fixed;

2. Align the timing mark of the camshaft gear (as shown in the above two red gears, generally small pits or arrows) with the timing mark on the chain (the chain link with the timing number is different in color from other chain links) and fix it;

3. Install the crankshaft drive sprocket to ensure that the timing mark on the chain and the mark on the sprocket are in the same position;

4. Finally, make sure that the three timing marks on the timing chain correspond to two timing marks on the camshaft sprocket and one timing mark on the crankshaft sprocket.

First, the main function of the engine timing chain is to drive the valve train of the engine, so that the intake valve and exhaust valve of the engine can be opened or closed at the appropriate time, thus ensuring that the engine cylinder can normally inhale and exhaust.

Second, for all engines, the timing belt must not jump or break. If the engine fails to work normally in the event of a trip, there will be unstable idle speed, poor acceleration or no car. If the timing belt is broken, the engine will shut down immediately, and the multi-valve engine will also cause the piston to bend the top valve, seriously damaging the whole engine.
