My LaVida 1.6 has a high idle speed. After driving for a certain distance, the idle speed is kept between 1000- 1200 rpm. I don't understand what's wrong.

When there is too much carbon deposit in the engine, the gasoline sprayed by the fuel injection head will be absorbed by the carbon deposit during the cold start, which leads to the lean mixture during the cold start and makes it difficult to start. In this case, only when the gasoline adsorbed by carbon deposits is saturated, it is easy to run into the car. After running into the car, the gasoline adsorbed on carbon deposits will be sucked into the cylinder by the vacuum suction of the engine for combustion, which will thicken the mixture and dilute the combustible mixture of the engine, resulting in idling jitter after cold start.

2. There is too much scale on the throttle and air inlet;

There is too much carbon and dirt in the throttle and the surrounding air intake, and the cross-sectional area of the air passage changes, which makes the control unit unable to accurately control the idle intake, resulting in the mixture being too rich or too thin, which makes the combustion abnormal.

Treatment method of continuous high idle speed of automobile

1. When the engine water temperature is low, the air conditioner is turned on, and the engine voltage is low, ECU programming should appropriately increase the idle speed. Under this normal condition, if the engine water temperature is normal, the air conditioner is not turned on, and the idle speed is high, it means that the system is faulty, which may be an electronic control system or a mechanical system.

2. If the idle speed is too high due to mechanical failure, be sure to check whether the intake pipe leaks, whether the vacuum pipe falls off and whether the intake pipe is damaged (the intake manifold of Volkswagen engine is mostly rubber pipe). Because the air intake of the engine is very small at idle speed, if there is air leakage, it will cause high idle speed.
