Types of barometer
The types of barometer are mercury barometer and aneroid barometer.
1. Mercury barometer: It is an instrument for measuring atmospheric pressure, and its measuring principle comes from Torricelli experiment. Based on the principle that the weight of mercury in the inverted glass column in the mercury tank is balanced with the surrounding atmospheric pressure, the atmospheric pressure is expressed by the height of the mercury column.
2. Hydrostatic barometer: The most common barometer is the metal box, and the change of the box cover is transmitted to the pointer through the transmission mechanism, which makes the pointer deflect. From the reading on the dial below the pointer, you can know the value of atmospheric pressure at that time.
