Air passes through the air inlet channel and the air flowmeter, and the sensor (potentiometer) of the air flowmeter outputs a voltage signal under the action of air pressure (flow). The voltage signal is transmitted to the ECU, and the ECU determines the basic fuel injection quantity according to the signal and the speed signal. When the engine is idling, the throttle valve is in the fully closed position.

The ECU determines the idle fuel injection quantity according to the signal and the cooling water temperature signal. The amount of air required for idle operation flows through the bypass channel, and in the bypass channel, an idle speed adjusting screw capable of changing the channel area is installed to adjust the air flow at normal idle speed.

So as to adjust idle running conditions and idle speed. Under the control of ECU, the idle speed control valve of electronic idle speed control system can change the amount of air flowing into the engine at idle speed according to the actual working conditions of the engine, so that the engine can run at the best speed (idle speed) under different working conditions.
