Techniques and methods of bee breeding

Bee breeding technology and methods include bee selection, scientific breeding and beehive management.

1, buy a bee colony

The suitable time to buy bees is April-May every year, which is in the breeding period of bees, which is conducive to selecting bees with stable temperament and good quality, especially those with thick feet, wide chest, long and plump abdomen, thick fur all over the body, rapid spawning and not easy to panic.

Step 2 feed scientifically

In the process of bee reproduction, artificial feeding should be carried out when the honey source is scarce. Honey can be diluted into syrup by adding water, and then the syrup is poured into the spleen or poured into a frame feeder. It is best to add 0. 1% citric acid to syrup when feeding.

3. Honeycomb management

In the breeding period, in order to promote the flight and excretion of bees, the center temperature of the hive should be controlled at 33~35 degrees, and the box cover should be opened in time for stocking in the later period. When bees excrete, they will enter the breeding season. At this time, artificial heat preservation must be adopted to tighten the hive and make the bee colony dense. It is suggested that multiple groups be raised in the same frame.

Matters needing attention in bee breeding

1, do not add spleen at will.

One of the mistakes that novice beekeepers always make is that they like to add spleen to beehives. Whether bees need it or not, they always feel prepared. But pay attention to adding nests and spleen to bees. First of all, there should be enough bees, auxiliary pollen nectar sources, more mulch or young worker bees. For those who have nests and spleen and find that the number of bees is insufficient, the nests and spleen can be reduced to the outside of the insulation board.

2. Avoid blind greed

This refers to the number of greedy bees. When there is no pollen honey source, don't raise weak bees. Bees are too weak to be managed, it is difficult for bees to develop, weak bees are easy to escape or even be destroyed, the income of weak bees is too low, and weak bees collect less honey. Therefore, if weak bees want to merge, two groups of weak bees can be merged into a medium bee colony. In fact, worker bees are also a factor that determines the amount of eggs laid by queen bees, so novice bees are most taboo to covet weak bees.
